No one should have to risk their life to make or enjoy art — or to work. While airborne pathogens can disable anyone, data shows that almost 40% of trans people already live with at least one disability (over 2x the rate of the general population), and we are more likely to experience barriers to healthcare/ housing/employment, which makes us more susceptible to the downstream effects of infection. Like vaccines, masks are more effective the more people use them. Like condoms, they are very effective but not 100% reliable, and best used with other layers of protection. Masking is an act of love!
